Paul's 2004 KTM 950

Uses; Daily as a commuter in between thrashing south of the border.

Mileage; 23000 or more.

Photographed; Shown as it returned from a Copper Canyon Mexico trip in November 07.
Its second trip to Mexico that year, the first one was in Baja as is the next.

Modifications; Re jetting of the carbs opened up the air box and removed all unnecessary plumbing and installed a Staintune exhaust system. A custom mounted W.E.R steering stabilizer was added and I increased the fork oil level and weight.

Set up; for comfort I added handle bar risers and a Corbin seat along with a tall Cee Bailey’s windshield, soft Oury grips with a throttle rocker.

Protection; Aluminum skid plate, aluminum radiator guard, rear master cyl. guard, air intake splash guard, carbon fiber lower tank guards along with the stock hand guards.

Adventure Touring Stuff; Jesse Bags, Wolfman tank bag and custom made “Johnny boxes” for water or gasoline, modified aluminum luggage rack for hard case or a water proof soft bag. Oh yeah and a high out put anti vibration head light.

Maintained; Motorex or Spectro synthetic oils every four thousand miles or so. Replaced coolant with “engine ice”. I also adjusted a few of the valves at 18000 miles and recently replaced the spark plugs.

Tires; Typically shod with Conti Twin Duros for street or Dunlop 908RRs for offroad.

Busted; water pump seal around 10000 miles and the clutch was replaced at 21000 miles.
The clutch slave cylinder seal puked on this last trip at 22900 miles and is being repaired now. Other than normal wear and tear items that’s all that’s been done.
