Sierra La Giganta
7 night/ 8 day dual sport adventure ride.
Starting and finishing in Cabo San Lucas
Day 1
Arrive Cabo San Lucas International airport, Transport to our hotel for welcome party, evening dinner, gear check and pre ride meeting.
Day 2
You’ve left old man winter behind and were just awakened by the sound of sea gulls and a warm ocean breeze. You’re all charged up from a marvelous Mexican breakfast and ready for the ride that most people only dream of. Let the adventure begin...
Starting from lands end with ocean views, we’ll be heading north along the Pacific. You will be weaving your way on and off the pavement through the Sierra De La Laguna Natural Park before cruising into the sleepy town of Todo Santos for a break at the infamous Hotel California.
From Todo Santos we’ll spend the afternoon off road along the coast and some of Baja’s finest surfing beaches. After airing it out through sand and dunes we head east crossing the peninsula arriving in the picturesque city of La Paz located on the Sea of Cortez.
Day 3
We start the day heading north for a great street section winding inland through many mountain passes. The air is dry and cool as we climb our way from sea level. After a few hours sightseeing street bike style we have the option of a wicked cool and very remote off road section. Taking us high into the Sierra De La Giganta Mountains you’ll see a different way of life passing by many small villages and the San Luis Gonzaga Mission along the way. You’ll be experiencing Baja as few Gringos’ do. Our route then takes us west back to the Pacific on the Bahia Magdalena and the small town of Puerto San Carlos.
Day 4
San Carlos offers some really spectacular Gray Whale watching. If the group chooses, it may be possible to book a whale watch which will be followed by a some of the best street riding and views that Baja has to offer on a short but scenic ride to Loreto. Otherwise we will have a longer off-road ride back up through the mountains stopping at San Javier, the first and oldest mission in Baja and on to Loreto for a two day stay…
Day 5
Today will be a day with options, and Loreto is the place. Jacques Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez the "World's Aquarium'. So what better place to go scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing, sea kayking, play golf on the edge of the sea, just hang out on the beach, or a take great dual sport loop over the mountains. Loreto has great shops to get great hand made crafts, jewelly and artwork. We'll have great options for dinner and nightlife as well.
Day 6
From Loreto we'll once again head over over the mountains south to Cuidad Constitcion for a great traditional mexican meal and a good nights sleep.
Day 7
We continue our journey south via pavement and nice dirt roads, historic missions and great vistas to the scenic fishing village of Los Barriles for some awesome seafood and margaritas!
Day 8
After a hardy breakfast, we'll pack up, say our 'Adios' and head back to the airport for your flight home.
